how does it record cell phone conversations. Does it record the one you are talking on or does it record a nominated cell phone.

This unit comes with adapters to record both landline and cell phone conversations, however it cannot record any conversations from another phone it is not connected to. In any situation where it is connected to a phone it will always record both sides of the conversation. I hope this helps.

how does this work? Can I record calls to both my home and mobile phones?

Yes this unit comes with adapters for landline phones and also a special icrophone designed to allow mobile phone recording. Youshould be able to achieve great results from either.

Does this record from a hands free phone

This unit can be connected to any phone connection in the home as long as it is the same line, therefore it does not matter what type of phone you have. The only type of system you would expect difficulties with is a multi-line digital commercial system which I very much doubt you have.
